At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was hospitalized. During my hospitalization, visitors were not allowed. Receiving phone calls from the staff and Clubhouse members eased my apprehensions by hearing familiar voices. Knowing that the staff and Clubhouse members reached out to me, showing love and letting me know that they were there for me, enabled me to focus on me.
Thank you all for the love and support.
After the pandemic hit and during isolation, I was locked up in my apartment. My mood was depressed - I had nothing going on. All I did was watch TV all the time. I had nothing to look forward to - I wondered where my life was going to. I was deteriorating rapidly.
My doctor referred me to Capital Clubhouse Inc. and I began participating virtually. At first, my mood remained the same but then I started to get involved and every day, I felt better and better. Now I look forward to meeting with my new friends at Clubhouse at least twice a day on Zoom. I feel a zest for life more than I have for a long time, more even than before the pandemic hit. For me, Capital Clubhouse is helping me thrive.
I was introduced to Capital Clubhouse after the loss of my mom, my dad, and my grandmother and Capital Clubhouse has helped me start a new life. I have learned so much from Capital Clubhouse, things that I did not imagine and Capital Clubhouse supports me as a college would. I have learned things such as completing life skills tasks, social studies, light computer skills, and janitor training. I can do this all because of the support from staff and other members of Capital Clubhouse.
